Epilogue
Kerry Bruno never truly adjusted to high school. Always feeling the outsider, she was an observer, rather than a participant in the life everyone expected her to lead. Between adjusting to the new school environment, her changing body, and her brother's sexuality, Kerry didn't quite take any time for just her.
After graduating high school, Kerry was accepted for a full scholarship at MIT. Accepting the chance to get out of Stoneybrook with glee, she scurried off to major in computer programming and software design. As far as she was concerned, she was determined to be a geek forever.
Six months later, though, her thoughts on that changed, when she met a young virtual reality-inclined professor named Thomas. Tom was everything Kerry had looked for. Tall, blonde, blue-eyed-he reminded her of Logan, and the thought alone soothed her. He was pleased with her work, enjoyed the creativity she put into such logical thinking. Once she graduated from his class, he asked her to dinner.
Around Tom, Kerry forgot to be awkward. Forgot to be a "nerd" as she'd called herself in high school. Instead, she felt graceful, intelligent, and witty. When Tom proposed a year and a half later, she accepted happily, not caring for one moment that he'd been her first boyfriend. She became successful in her career choice, soon working for Microsoft. Kerry found herself assisting on their larger projects, balancing both that, and the family life she hoped to soon be leading.
